 Coaching and Mentoring

Coaching and mentoring is now embedding itself as a widespread development tool. It is being used by organisations across the UK and worldwide. A recent study carried out by the International Coach Federation on the impact of executive coaching found that "executive coaching" is being used to improve job performance and demonstrates that in management, it can have a positive impact on productivity and profitability.

Performance improves as a direct result of participating in executive coaching and mentoring.

  • 99% of executives indicated that participating in executive coaching had improved their job performance.

  • The executives felt they were better managers and leaders as a direct result of participating in executive coaching, their interpersonal communications had improved.

  • The executives have seen improvement in their professional relationships and productivity, and many of them felt that they were more goal-oriented.

The current economic climate is creating a clear need in the market for organisations to draw on the expertise of effective coaches and mentors to maximise the potential of its current staff and ensure it survives the forthcoming challenges in the market place.

The most important added knowledge is in the areas of communication, relationship building, reflection, goal setting, decision-making, and strategic focus from their participation in executive coaching.

Effective coaching and mentoring is an informal, relatively unstructured professional relationship usually outside the normal line management, enabling individuals to achieve their goals and provide long-term guidance to individuals as part of their career development. There are huge potential benefits in the relationship for both coach/mentor and staff including:

  • Improved productivity

  • Enhanced decision making

  • Improved retention through staff engagement

  • Better communication and strengthened relationships

  • Executive stretch

  • Ownership of self development and performance through experiential learning

  • Support of strategic and operational objectives

The process starts with an initial diagnostic discussion with an Executive Coach. They will assess your current professional situation, and guide you through an in-depth process to explore the options and clarify the desired outcome.  Obstacles in the pathway to success will be identified, and a powerful action plan will be designed to move you and your business forward.

We run executive coaching and mentoring programmes, and also "Coach the Coach" programmes, which are practical and intensive; equipping delegates with the knowledge and skills they need to begin the coaching and mentoring process with confidence.

"Coaching deals with all areas of life, professional and personal - it’s not just for people with problems - but for those who want to do what they do even better." Independent on Sunday

"Coaches act as a mirror; helping people to work out what they want, what they are good at, what they are bad at, where and how they can improve." Financial Times
